New Full-Time Employees:
At the 90th date of employment Bolin offers full-time employees:
- Health Insurance (2 plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois)
- Dental Insurance (2 plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois)
- Vision Insurance (1 plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois)
- 8 paid holidays (except for Pipeline Inspection and Land Management Divisions)
- Employees hired from 1/1/2025 to 6/30/2025 or 10/3/2025 to 12/31/2025 will receive 5 PTO (paid time off) leave days to use within the 2025 calendar year (Pipeline Inspection and Land Management Divisions are applicable when projects are within the state of Illinois)
- Employees hired from 7/1/2025 to 10/2/2025 will receive 2.5 PTO (paid time off) leave days to use within the 2025 calendar year (Pipeline Inspection and Land Management Divisions are applicable when projects are within the state of Illinois)
- Provided with a $25,000 group life insurance policy at no cost to the employee
- Pro-rated vacation hours awarded on the employee’s 1 year hire date.
Full-Time Employees:
For full-time employees that have already achieved 90 days of employment, your benefits are offered on a calendar year basis. Open enrollment is in December of each year for the following year’s benefit options that will become active on January 1st. Additionally, full-time employees 21 years or older, are eligible to enroll in our 401K after 1 year or 1,000 hours worked.
Vacation hours are available on January 1st after an employee has been with the company for 1 year. We allow 40 vacation hours to be carried over into the following year. Listed below is the amount of vacation hours employees are provided:
** Pipeline Inspection and Land Management divisions do not receive vacation pay. Those divisions have different pay structure and per diem structures.
- 2nd January after hire date: 40 hours
- 3rd through 8th January after hire date: 80 hours each year
- 9th through 14th January after hire date: 120 hours each year
- 15th January and up after hire date: 160 hours each year
New Part-Time Employees:
As a part-time employee, most divisions are provided with (1) PTO (paid time off) hour for every 40 hours worked within a calendar year. (Pipeline Inspection and Land Management Divisions are applicable when projects are within the state of Illinois)
Additionally, after 1,000 hours, part-time employees 21 years or older, are eligible to enroll in our 401K.
Qualifying Events:
Outside of open enrollment you would need to have a qualifying event to add, drop, or make changes to your benefits. Employees are responsible for notifying Human Resources within 30 days of the qualifying life event to make a change to benefit elections. Qualifying event changes are effective on the date in which the event occurred.
Some examples of qualifying events are:
- Losing existing health coverage
- Losing eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- Turning 26 and losing coverage through a parent’s plan
- Getting married or divorced
- Having a baby or adopting a child
- Death in the family
Wellness Program:
Each year, any employee that is actively on our group health insurance is required to complete a wellness exam before mid-December. Employees that chose not to participate will be responsible for an additional 10% of their individual premium. For more information on the Wellness Program, click HERE.
